Oxidation Of A City
This project was an ongoing task starting in the spring and finally wrapping up mid-December. By taking the initial topic and naturally occurring phenomenon of oxidation, I then compared and contrasted this with the rust-belt areas of the midwest, the economic downturn of these towns, and what happens when industrialization fails; how a city itself can become truly oxidized. When the project finally wrapped up, I wanted it to appeal to an audience with taste, an audience that can be perplexed by it's simple cover but have enough patience to look through the design and be surprised by the ever-changing layouts, the uncommon modular grid, and feel a sense of longing that the photos of these real places affected by oxidation present.
